Sullivan’s Steakhouse in Palm Desert debuts a refreshed and youthful look after interior and exterior renovations

PALM DESERT, Calif. (March 17, 2014) – Sullivan’s Steakhouse, a favorite Desert neighborhood restaurant known for its hand cut steaks, fresh seafood, and delectable side dishes, is pleased to debut the restaurant’s highly anticipated new look, consisting of major renovations to the bar and lounge, main dining room, private dining rooms, patio, and more.

With a contemporary vision, the refreshed design emphasizes a more vibrant color scheme and lighter atmosphere throughout the 7,200-square-foot establishment. Design elements bring more natural light into the restaurant, energizing it with a fresh new vibe.  High-top stools surround a rustic communal dining table, adding depth and sparking conversation around the bar and lounge, which now boasts seating for 60 guests.  Al fresco dining has been expanded for guests who want to soak up the sun and keep an eye on the scene along El Paseo.  Sleek new awnings along the patio attract the “in crowd.”

Guests will notice a difference immediately when they enter the restaurant, as walls have been removed to enlarge and brighten the foyer.  Hand-crafted artwork includes pops of deep red and gold around the bar.  Handsome dark woods and residential-inspired detailing juxtaposed with champagne accents and more contemporary, clean lines create a sexy atmosphere.  The lounge has also been reconfigured with semi-private nooks and plush leather booths, perfect for intimate dates and private business meetings.

The refreshed design is an extension of Sullivan’s new approach, as the popular restaurant recently introduced a revved up menu, too.  With Executive Chef Kevin Favinger at the helm, Sullivan’s now has a new menu which features an abundance of seasonal produce, lighter fare, and succulent seafood.  Bringing new energy to the restaurant, Chef Favinger is serving bright new dishes like Kale Salad with Gala Apples, Caramelized Cauliflower and Broiled Wild Salmon.  Chef is also featuring a $39 three-course prix fixe menu called “The Sure Thing,” a lock for guests who like to sample a variety of Sullivan’s much-loved classics: Cheesesteak Eggrolls, Crispy Shanghai Calamari and Filet Mignon.

As always, the extensive wine list at Sullivan’s boasts 400 selections  from the top regions in the world, creating a stand-out choice for guests with discerning taste who want the best wines to complement their hand-cut steaks.  Sullivan’s signature martini, The Knockout, is made with sweet Hawaiian Gold pineapples which have been soaked in orange vodka and hand-squeezed into a cold and refreshing martini glass and is still the best way to kick off a memorable evening.
